My specialties

I have extensive training and experience working with individuals of all ages with all eating disorders diagnoses, disordered eating, body image distress, and anxiety. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) by the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp). I have worked in eating disorder treatment at all levels of care since 2020 in several roles, including as a therapist and in admissions. In addition to therapy, I provide education and training in ACT application and eating disorder prevention, assessment, and treatment to professionals in North and South Carolina.

The details

I am a proud South Carolinian and graduate of Clemson University (BS in Spanish, Public Health) and the University of South Carolina (MSW). I am extensively trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is an action-based therapy which helps individuals accept challenging emotions and experiences while doing what works and is meaningful to them - moving towards the life they want to live. ACT is an evidence-based treatment for eating disorders, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. I am also extensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) and use these extensively in my practice. I am gender-affirming and neurodivergent-affirming. For individuals with eating disorders, I also provide the following:

  • Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for teens with Anorexia Nervosa (more about this here

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (CBT-ARFID) for children, teens, and adults with ARFID (more about this here)

My experience

What working with me is like

My clients have described me as: validating, creative, warm, a hard-ass (but in a good way), and sometimes funny (when appropriate)

Living with anxiety or an eating disorder is challenging, exhausting, and is probably moving you away from the person you want to be and the life you want to live. We’ll creatively collaborate to identify what’s working and what’s not - and do the challenging work to find and implement more adaptive ways of coping with life’s challenges and past trauma. I am direct and action-oriented - I will hold you accountable! - and I know how hard this work is and how meaningful it can be. Let’s move towards a more peaceful relationship with yourself.
